                                                DEFEND THE CHILD


If you are a parent, or anyone who has ever held a newborn baby in your arms, and you look into those beautiful baby eyes, you might wonder why anyone could ever abort a baby's life, once the baby was conceived.

From the moment of conception, the human being within the mother must have an equal right to its own separate life.  Neither the mother, nor medical practioner, nor any human being, nor medicines designed to abort a baby, should be allowed to destroy that innocent baby's life.

Except for protecting the life of the mother, the State, nor any government, should not give any right to any person, nor any physician, nor any medical practioner, to destroy an innocent, individual human being.  The conceived innocent baby has not committed any crime worthy of death.  The conceived baby must be granted all rights under our United States Constitution.

The only time an abortion should be allowed is if the mother is in danger of losing her life. The mother may already be caring for her other children, who need her.  She could possibly conceive other children in the future.  The mother's life must be protected and it would be morally justified to protect her life.

The unborn child should not be aborted because the mother is in ill health.  If the law allows for an abortion because the mother is ill, then the abortionists and abortion providers would not be put out of business.  An abortion provider could simply change his or her business sign that could be called, "The Health of the Mother Clinic."  All the abortion provider would need to say is that the mother is ill and the unborn child is causing the illness. The result would be to abort the child.  Using the premise that the mother is ill, simply would not stop abortion.  If the mother complains of ill health, she should be treated for her illness.

In the case of rape, the woman who was attacked, should seek medical attention within 72 hours, before conception takes place.  Within that period, the medical staff could remove any fluids, and if the woman is ovulating, could administer medicine that would prevent conception.  Preventing conception due to rape is morally justified.

During the period immediately following the rape of the woman, the legal authorities should be notified as soon as possible.  Once the rapist was apprehended, that person should be processed through the judicial system.  We must protect women with increased mandatory minimum sentences for rape.  Rape must come to a stop.  If these actions are taken before and after a rape, then no child would be conceived due to rape.

In the case of incest, the same applies as in the case of rape.  Report the crime and seek medical attention within 72 hours to prevent conception.
Mandatory minimum punishment for incest should be increased.  The perpetrator must be removed from the family and the victim, and be subjected to increased minimum mandatory incarceration.


Other reasons that people have used to justify aborting a baby are:

                Want to postpone childbearing

                Cannot afford a baby

                Has relationship problem or partner does not want baby.

                Too young; parent(s), or other(s) object to baby.

                Having a baby will disrupt education or job. 

                Want no (more) children.

                Risk to fetal health.


If a woman does not want her baby for any of the above reasons, the option should not be abortion. The baby has committed no crime worthy of death.  The mother should carry the baby to term and deliver her baby.  Once her baby is born, then that is when "choice" should be allowed.  The mother could choose to either keep her baby, or put her baby up for adoption.

These actions would eliminate aborting a baby's life on demand, for any reason, other than for saving of the life of the mother.
